History

Can-Am® was first launched in 1942 by Joseph-Armand Bombardier, famous for the first successful creation and testing of a snowmobile. A branch of a larger powersports company called Bombardier Recreational Products, the brand was initially known for its motorcycles. Their high-performing motocross dirt bikes were a huge success and set the tone for the brand’s future success. As its popularity gained momentum, the company diversified into a variety of powersports vehicles.

Can-Am® was soon spearheading the powersports industry. Their ATVs with TTI rear suspension which utilized two independent pivot points for enhanced comfort in all terrains, was yet another resounding success. 

In 2002, the company manufactured the first approved ATV capable of handling two passengers. It also boasted a suspension system capable of carrying more weight without compromising on performance.

In 2010, the brand stormed the market with its cutting-edge Can-Am® Commander, the most versatile side-by-side created to date. Powered by an 85-hp Rotax 1000 V-Twin engine, no terrain was challenging enough for this beast on wheels which boasts unmatched speed capabilities, a dual-level cargo box for easy storage, and much more.
