All of the years that I’ve been snowmobiling; I have always stuck in the 600cc class of sleds. This year I decided by sheer fortune of circumstances to buy the 800R. If you think that your 600cc motor is adequate, then think again. Don’t get me wrong, top speed is nice and all, but how often can you sustain speeds past 100 mph? The only sled that is faster than this one right now is the Yamaha Apex up to 100... but up to 80 mph, this sled will yank away from the Apex like it’s standing still. It’s so light and nimble weighing in at only 448 lbs. For those who feel weight doesn’t matter once you’re on the trail, ask my buddy with the Apex how his shoulders and back feel. Yes, weight does matter. Last but not least is the comfort. Besides all the bells and whistles this sled has to offer, the suspension is what makes this sled awesome. It not only handles the big bumps well, but those little studder bumps that you go over at 60 mph. You can barely feel yourself going over them. If you’re a little past 25 years old like me, then suspension begins to matter a lot. This is a great sled.
